RESYLIENTS

"how the hell can you ever turn the page, as a runaway..."

Resylients formed a few years ago in Geneva and its surrounding areas, with the goal of bringing richly arranged and timeless original rock music to the scene in and around Suisse Romande.  The group has built a repertoire of catchy and energetic titles, lushly layered with harmonies and synths and crisp, shimmering electric guitars - tunes like "Radium" and "Another Day" display this dynamic well.  At the same time, Resylients aren't afraid to slow things down with a brooding ballad, as evidenced on the emotionally charged "In the Land of Stone".   No detail is left untended here, as even (perhaps especially) the lyrics are carefully constructed stories rich with imagery, layers of meaning, and metaphor.  Though Resylients are not above the occasional detour into light and funny territory - check out "Get Back Up Again", for example.

Composer and guitarist Pascal Toso - a former member of Hard FM, Sharper, and many others - cut his teeth as a live guitarist in the Genevois scene of the 1990s and early 2000s, and has been building a set of songs in demo form for several years.   Joining creative forces with longtime friend and drummer Philippe Maurer - who has played at times with Alesia, Freelance, Meanwild, Les Malinges, and TotoJam - and their mutual friend and occcasional collaborator Isa HD on bass guitar, they began transforming the demos into a live repertoire.  Around the time of the pandemic and the earliest lockdowns, they joined up with Aaron Lee, an American expat singer/songwriter looking to get back into live music, and the songs began to take their "final form".

Through some lineup changes (Isa took a step back to focus on personal projects, later coming back into the group as a supporting vocalist and percussionist) that brought in Arnaud Bled as the new bassist, Resylients continued working out the repertoire.  They debuted the first collection of songs in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd at the plage d'Hermance in August, to close out the 2023 season of the village's Apero Concert series.

Resylients are now in the process of recording tracks for the first official release, and preparing to play more concerts in the spring and summer.  Sign up to the mailing list to keep up with all the latest news, follow Resylients on Facebook and Instagram, and keep your eyes and ears open for more new music - there are a lot of good things coming up soon.
